In the beginning music did not exist. There was no sense of rhythm in the universe. The worlds spun without any relation or connection. The days were endless and the nights seem to be eternal. No one had an understanding of how time passed.
The farmers couldn’t farm because they didn’t know when to harvest. The hunters couldn’t catch their prey because they couldn’t find when was the time to pounce. They didn’t have the timing to catch the prey when the kill was possible. The humans started to starve. They simply had no means of getting food.
Mozart looked down upon his people seeing them perish in the rhythmless hell that they lived in. He saw his children playing in the yard one day, and realized as they ran around trying to catch each other, that the problem had to be fixed.
He spent many days in his study trying to invent. He tinkered he tried and composed, but everything had been fruitless. None of his inventions had actually righted the wrong that had been put in place millions of years ago.. He had no way of knowing that his invention was just about to save the world, and everything in it.
He ran to his study and in his haste he slammed the door. He could feel the frustration building up inside of him. His blood pressure skyrocketed. He screamed at the top of his lungs. Then he sat there, as he felt his heart thumping in his eyes. He could see it pulse as his frustration mounted. In an instant he understood what to do. He felt his heart with his right hand and with his left he opened his door and slammed it again. The world shuttered for a second as it slowed its tremendous speed. The world seemed to recognize the rhythm that had just been created as the door slammed over and over again to the beat of his heart.
All of the planets then followed suit with the earth. He slammed the door 60 times over and over. This created the second and the minute. While simultaneously creating beats and measures.
Then mozart took the door and slammed it after every “beat” of his heart. He could feel his heart leaning heavier on the next beat. This created syncopation, and together with it the seasons were created as it tempered the rate the Earth spun around the Sun.
Ever since then the years have been measured the same way, and for that everyone has Mozart to thank.
